Learning and teaching methods
You will learn Computer Animation through practical projects and in seminars. Projects are completed in workshops and you are supplied with the software and resources that you need. During seminars you will learn the key ideas that inform animation and you also learn to be critical and to debate ideas and theories.
Animation is always based on observation. Throughout the course you will learn how to observe and how to translate what you observe into exciting and successful animation. You learn to observe by drawing, model making, motion capture, chronophotography, by playing games, by viewing films and by watching television (sorry).
Animators need to be self–motivated. Animation is a healthy obsession. We will teach you for some of each week, but you will also need to spend many hours each week independently learning, experimenting and developing your skills.
